Tracking and Voice Separation of Moving Speakers based on IMM-PDA filters
نویسندگان
چکیده
The problem addressed in this work is that of separating the voices of simultaneously active moving speakers using a single microphone array. We adapt the multi-sensor multi-target tracking theory to the context of microphone arrays, in order to form a receptive beam that locks on each moving speaker on an extended time basis and, therefore, achieves voice separation. Our approach (a) incorporates kinematical information of speakers’ movement by using an interacting multiple model (IMM) estimator per speaker in order to constrain the evolution of Direction of Arrival (DOA) measurements, and (b) can directly account for measurement origin uncertainty by using the probabilistic data association (PDA) technique in conjunction with the IMM estimator. Finally, we demonstrate the function of the gate as a means to initiate and terminate track segments corresponding to phrases.

Tracking Multiple Maneuvering Targets by Joint Combinations of IMM and PDA
For the problem of tracking multiple manoeuvering targets in false and missing measurements the paper develops a characterization of the exact Bayesian equations of the conditional density. Since in these exact equations both IMM and PDA are Jointly performed over all targets, we also develop two Joint IMMPDA type of filters and compare them with other combinations of IMM and JPDA through Monte...
متن کاملMultiple moving speaker tracking by microphone array on mobile robot
Real-world applications often require tracking multiple moving speakers for improving human-robot interactions and/or sound source separation. This paper presents multiple moving speaker tracking using an 8ch microphone array system installed on a mobile robot. This problem is difficult because the system does not assume that sound sources and/or the microphone array are fixed. Our solutions co...
متن کاملMultitarget tracking with the IMM and Bayesian networks: Empirical studies
This paper concentrates on multitarget tracking (MTT) simulation. The purpose of this paper is to simulate 11 targets in the noisy environment. The sensors used in the simulations are passive. First, we use the interactive multiple model (IMM) algorithm with the probabilistic data association (PDA) algorithm. The PDA is not capable to process attribute observations (i.e. observations of feature...
متن کاملInteracting Multiple Model Particle-type Filtering Approaches to Ground Target Tracking
Ground maneuvering target tracking is a class of nonlinear and/or no-Gaussian filtering problem. A new interacting multiple model unscented particle filter (IMMUPF) is presented to deal with the problem. A bank of unscented particle filters is used in the interacting multiple model (IMM) framework for updating the state of moving target. To validate the algorithm, two groups of multiple model f...
متن کاملMultiple Moving Speakers Tracking Based on Multiple Kalman Filters and Accuracy Evaluation
This paper presents multiple moving speaker tracking using an 8ch microphone array system installed on a mobile robot. We use a set of Kalman filters with different history lengths in order to track non-linear movements of multiple speakers. For quantitative evaluation of the tracking, motion references of sound sources and a mobile robot, called SIG2, were measured accurately by ultrasonic 3D ...
